Simple Definition:

Grace in the Bible refers to the undeserved love, mercy, and favor [kindness or good will] that God shows towards humanity. (Undeserved means that it is given even though we have not earned or deserved it).

For example:

  • In the Bible, God extended grace to the people of Nineveh by forgiving them when they repented of their wickedness.
  • Jesus showed grace to the woman caught in adultery by not condemning her, but instead, forgiving her and encouraging her to sin no more.

Very Simple Definition:

Grace in the Bible means that God loves and forgives us even when we don’t deserve it.

For example:

  • God forgave David when he admitted his wrongdoing and asked for forgiveness.
  • Jesus showed kindness to Zacchaeus, a tax collector who had made many mistakes.
